We all know New Zealand as the World’s best country in a lot of things.
They are also the World’s best in Rugby. Â But that’s not all.
Breathtaking Landscapes
New Zealand is known for its vast tract of mountainous terrain that occupies the south-west corner of South Island New Zealand.
Land of TrekkingÂ
New Zealand’s best known place for trekking is around South Island. Â It is just over 33 miles long, with waterfalls, suspension bridges, mountains, valleys and spellbinding lakes.
Home to the HakaÂ
The New Zealand All Blacks are known as the most successful sporting dynasties in the world. Â Warming up with the Haka dance, is one of the reasons why they are the best.
Home to the Kakapo
The Kakapo is a special bird, other known as the largest and longest living parrot in the world. Very rare.
The Beaches
New Zealand is known for its 90 mile beaches. Â Amazing sunsets and surf breaks, make it a popular tourist attraction and destination. Â You are surrounded by water, at all times. The furthest you are from water is only 80 miles, unless you find a lake nearby.
The longest name in the world
On the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island you will find a hill named “Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu”. Translated in English means “the place where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid, climbed and swallowed mountains, known as ‘landeater’, played his flute to his loved one.”
Oldest Trees in the World
You will find the extraordinary Kauri tree , which is known to live for more than 1,000 years. In Waipoua Forest in North Auckland, you will find the oldest tree which is up to 4,000 years old. Â Tane Mahuta is the country’s largest with a huge 4.4 metres diameter.
Home of the Maori culture
The indigenous people of New Zealand arrived more than 1,000 years ago from Polynesia, Carving, weaving and tattooing are common Maori art forms, as are powerful physical performances combining waita (singing) and kapa haka (dance).
A land full of GeysersÂ
Found in Rotorua in due to its volcanic activity. Wai-o-tapu is the arguably the best of its sites, dotted by striking lakes with a mineral hue with geyser that erupts every morning, spurting out mud. In Rotorua, visitors can watch concerts at Whakarewarewa and Te Puia  reserves preserving Maori culture among hot springs, bubbling mud and geysers.
Marine Volcano
At White Island is the only Marine Volcano  you will find in New Zealand.  Get up close and personal  to the inner crater of the country’s only marine volcano.
Great Wine Vine Fields, Â And Dine
There are few finer feelings than sitting at a restaurant terrace enjoying fine food, watching the sun set behind the vineyard, with the light gleaming through a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Dinner within the vines in Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough, Marlborough, Central Otago and a variety of other wine regions.
 Art Deco in NapierÂ
The Art Deco architecture of Napier, has the highest concentration of the genre in the southern hemisphere. The town was largely rebuilt after a massive 7.8 Richter earthquake in 1931. Alongside Miami Beach, it is now a must-visit for Art Deco devotees.

Taieri Gorge is known as one of the scenic, heading 50-miles into mountain scenery that is difficult to access otherwise.  Same goes for the  TranzAlpine Rail Journey from Christchurch to Greymouth.

Even though its not a national sport, it’s something a lot of people like to do, especially in New Zealand, capturing the scenic views and a variety of choices to choose from locations.

You will find glorious gardens, with a natural diversity and range of climate which allows a variety of plants, trees and shrubs to flourish.  The theme of Hamilton Gardens is the most popular attraction in the Waikato region is the “story of gardens”, with everything from a traditional herb garden to an American Modernist Garden.  Events are held there annually.
The Coolest Capital City

Sperm whales live  off the South Island’s shores. Visiting Kaikoura will help you spot one from there.  You can also take a Whale Watch boat tour.  Catch a glimpse of fur seals too while at it.

Fly over with a helicopter to Franz Josef. Â In a land of dramatic glaciers and mountains, Franz Josef stands out. A helicopter ride is recommended
