At last some good news for Christchurch,New Zealand. And they do need it so to all you visitors intending to travel to the South Island of New Zealand, definitely spend a few days in the city. There’s still plenty to do, and you’ll be supporting the new businesses inspiring Christchurch’s renaissance.
Lonely Planet has labelled quake-ravaged Christchurch as one of New Zealand’s most exciting cities.In an online article published yesterday by the renowned travel guide firm, author Brett Atkinson said researchers had visited three times since the February 22 earthquake – including two weeks on-the-ground research “recently” – and were impressed by what they saw.
“Our latest visit was unlike any other Lonely Planet research gig, with virtually all of the bars, cafes and restaurants recommended in our 2010 New Zealand guidebook no longer open,” Atkinson wrote.
“But amid the occasional uncertainty of aftershocks, Christchurch is re-emerging as one of NZâs most exciting cities.
