Gabs Beer and Food Festival begun in Â 2012 . Â Responsible for the event are Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone. Â They own award winning Local Taphouse beer bars in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. Â Usually every year, GABS attracts around 23,000 people from all over the world. Â Kiwi brewers were also part of the festival too.

Auckland promoter CRS Presents together in partnership with C3 Presents and Live Nation Entertainment, have announced the Auckland City Limits Music Festival, which will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Western Springs stadium, the surrounding fields and lakeside park. The line is up diverse, with a lot of major international music stars and local talents alike . This is a one day event which will showcase 40 artists from across a broad range of musical genres as well as feature outstanding culinary options, local artworks, an artisanal market, festival fashion, a kids zone and a new festival forum for speaking on and exchanging cultural and innovative ideas.

The Samoan Fia Fia Dance
Fia fias are AMAZING! These are Samoan feasts that include dancing, song and the famous knife-fire dance. Most resorts have them and they vary in performance
These images are from our “winter break” in Samoa last month. We had a slow down in visitor arrivals at Eden Park Bed and Breakfast and used the opportunity to escape from Auckland and head North into warmer weather. The temperatures averaged 30 degrees every day and it was just wonderful . We hope you Enjoy this video.

One of the most amazing memorable NRL Auckland Nines Final was won by South Sydney with a score of 18-14 during golden try extra time. The Sharks put out a strong defensive wall making it hard for South Sydney to break through easily.
Weekend in Review
The Rabbitohs, defeated Cronulla 18-14 another memorable final.
Cronulla knocked out the Warriors in the quarter-final stages along the way to a spot in the final.
The Sharks beat the Roosters and the Rabbitohs beat the Eels in the semi-finals.
Women’s NRL Series
In the women’s series, the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns won beating the Jillaroos, 2-1.
Note this event was the first time that matches between the two women’s teams were on Â live television. Â Very impressive match ups.
Thousands attended to watch skillful football played at Eden Park over the Weekend.
TheNRL Auckland Nines is competitive football tournament played in a fun environment., and will be back again next year!

TheÂ NRL Auckland NinesÂ is a rugby league competition held this weekend. This competition started just last year ; more specifically on the 15th and 16th February 2014. Last years NRL9’s Event was the first of the five which is going to be held at Eden Park.This is New Zealand’s Biggest Rugby Stadium.
In this Tournament 16 NRL Clubs compete. Each squad has at least 12 of their top players from their squad and one marquee player. The winner of the tournaments receive a hefty amount as a prize. Usually around NZD$530,000.
In this years 2015 Dick Smith’s NRL Auckland Nines, it is again held at Eden Park. Which is a stone throw away from our beloved Eden Park Bed and Breakfast. And this year ,as last year, all sixteen NRL Clubs will compete along with the KIWI FERNS and the Jillaroos, who competed in a three game series. The Final Pool names for this year are: Rangitoto, Waiheke, Piha, and Hunua .
These were chosen and voted by by the general public.
Rules for NRL Auckland Nines
The NRL Auckland Nines have a few rule variations which ensure the games are a lot faster and smoother with less delays and stoppages.
The Difference between the Regular NRL Games are the following:
- There are Nine players a side with six unlimited interchange players.
- Scrums will only form after a double knock on, with attacking teams to elect which side to feed the ball.
- No video referee, with one on-field referee.
- There is a five minute golden try period in qualifying rounds with a draw to be deemed if there is no result, while unlimited golden try for the finals.
- A tap restart will take place after a 40/20.
- Five points for a try scored in the bonus zone under the posts, with two point drop kick conversion attempts.
- The scoring team will have a dropkick off to restart play.
- There Are five minute sin bins.
- There are five tackles in a set

Usually our neighborhood in Mt. Eden get’s a lot of fans during this time of year. These fans usually dress up in costumes , get in groups and walk the streets of Mt. Eden heading to and from Eden Park Stadium.Â Â It is Fun to be part of. Great fun all around for Fans of this Rugby League Sporting Event.
