New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has announced the Pasifika Challenge double-header at Eden Park on Friday 16 June that will see the All Blacks play Samoa in a pre-DHL New Zealand Lions Series hit-out, preceded by Tonga playing Wales.

The Pasifika Challenge promises to be a great night for Pacific rugby and the Pacific community in New Zealand. Auckland is home to the largest Pacific Island population in the world, and to have Samoa and Tonga playing Test matches back to back in an unprecedented double-header will be something unique so we hope the Pasific community turns up in masses, which will contribute to the special occasion.

All Blacks Vs New Zealand Lions June 24th

The first Test Match and seventh match of the DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2017 sees the All Blacks taking on The British & Irish Lions at Eden Park in Auckland on 24 June.
The British & Irish Lions haven’t beating the All Blacks since 1993 and have only beaten them in a Test Series once. The 1987, 2011 and 2015 World Champions will be keen to maintain this record.

Maori All Blacks v The British & Irish Lions

The fifth match of the DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2017 sees the Maori All Blacks taking on The British & Irish Lions at Rotorua International Stadium in Rotorua on 17 June.

The last time these teams met in 2005 the Maori All Blacks secured their first win in seven matches dating back to 1930.  The hype surrounding this much anticipated unofficial “fourth Test” will ensure a Test match like atmosphere in a region considered the heartland of Maori culture.

Chiefs v The British & Irish Lions

This will be the first time the Chiefs have played the Lions.  After beating Wales in 2016 they will be keen to start this rivalry with a win.

The eighth match of the DHL New Zealand Lions Series 2017 sees the Hurricanes taking on The British & Irish Lions at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on 27 June.

This will be the first time the Hurricanes have played the Lions. The 2016 Investec Super Rugby Champions will be keen to start this rivalry with a win. This match will kick off a rugby party in Wellington with the second Test match taking place at the same venue only four days later.

All Blacks Adidas Rugby World Cup Jersey Unveiled!

According to the All Blacks website, the new adidas jersey was unveiled at a function in Auckland and is considered as the most technically advanced All Blacks jersey ever created.   The design was developed with input from All Blacks management and senior players. There is a Rugby World Cup  trophy is embossed on the right sleeve of the jersey acknowledging the All Blacks’ Rugby World Cup successes in 1987 and 2011. The Rugby World Cup 2015 logo moved to the right.  The All Blacks silver fern logo remains on the left-hand side of the jersey. Based on this research, Adidas has developed two jerseys, tailored specifically to the needs of All Blacks forwards and backs – jerseys that replicate the movements of players’ skin. Featuring fabric-weaving technology, which has a unique two-way stretch, Woven Carbon was developed by the team at Adidas to ensure the use of a superior fabric that doesn’t compromise on strength, flexibility, weight or comfort, and can withstand the rigour of the game.
