We have the Rugby Test between the All Blacks and England tomorrow at Eden Park. Go All Blacks . I will have more on the Eden Park redevelopment for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in the secondry blog on this site as we travel down the road.
With our close vicinity to Eden Park Rugby and Cricket Stadium, myself and my wife find ourselves being overun by guests leading up to any game being held there. This usually means that there is a massive grounds clean up. With the volcanic loam as my soil and the plentiful rain and humidity that is Auckland, New Zealand ; i have a reasonable garden to maintain. Things grow very well here!
We have one Palm Tree in the front garden that produces bountiful seed pods every year. The birds have great delight in spreading these all over this property and the neighbourhood . So… as i go around this place with the clean up and weeding procedure i find myself having to pull out palm trees that have self seeded. Unbelievable , eh?
When we first noticed this in the early years of the property ownership, i used to put them in pots and try to grow them. It was when i found that the property was beginning to look like a nursery in Palm Trees that i gave up. So if any people in Auckland want Palm Trees as seedlings; please contact us and take them away.(although after this latest clean up they are in a diminished state)
